By 2020, ethnic Kyrgyz can have two citizenships

Moscow, June 22 / Kabar /. By 2020, ethnic Kyrgyz will be allowed to have two citizenships.

During the meeting with compatriots in Moscow within the framework of the state visit to Russia, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev said that there is really such a problem.

Kyrgyz citizens complained that in Russia the penalty for delay in the renewal of registration is from 2 to 5 thousand roubles, in Kyrgyzstan it is 10 thousand soms.

"We were afraid to give dual citizenship before. This problem should be considered and the Constitution revised. By 2020, we will be able to change and make sure that Kyrgyz working and living abroad can have the passport of Kyrgyzstan. This will concern only ethnic Kyrgyz," the President said.

In addition, the President said that after retiring, he intends to be engaged in the problems of migrants and will visit several regions of Siberia in early autumn.
