Bishkek, Dec.25, 2019. /Kabar/. By the end of 2019, Kyrgyzstan’s external debt is expected to decline by 44.1% of GDP, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at his final press conference.
The Kyrgyz leader said the external debt of the state has a steady tendency to decline.
“The year before last, the volume of external public debt to GDP was 53.1%, while last year - 48%, and by the end of 2019 it is expected to decline to 44.1%," he said.
Jeenbekov also briefly focused on the implementation of the Affordable Housing program. As he noted, over 4,400 mortgage loans worth more than KGS 5 billion 200 million had been allocated by Nov. 1, 2019. As a result, more than 16 thousand citizens were provided with housing. Interest rates on government mortgages were reduced from 12% to 6%.
“Under this program, we started providing mortgage loans not only to those engaged in the public sector, but also to all citizens in need of housing," Jeenbekov said.
Note that the second press conference of the President was held at the Ala-Archa stare residence.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov answered the questions of media representatives and summed up the results of the year. The event was covered by 188 journalists from state and foreign media.
