Bishkek, May 7, 2020 /Kabar/. Due to the introduction of emergency and state of emergency regimes and the suspension of economic activity in Bishkek, the expected macroeconomic indicators are projected to decline by the end of 2020, First Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Almaz Baketayev said at a briefing at the Government House.

According to his data, according to preliminary estimates, by the end of 2020, the expected volume of gross regional product (GRP) will be about KGS 230 billion, the decline is due to the negative contribution to GRP of two industries: services and industry.

By the end of 2020 the volume of industrial output is expected at the level of KGS 37 million.

"In the industrial sector, the decline was caused by a decrease in textile production; production of clothing and footwear, leather and leather goods; foodstuffs, tobacco products and other industries. In this connection, the volume of marker services are expected to decrease at the level of 88.5% by 2019, so by the end of 2020 the volume is projected at KGS 220 million. The decline is due to the suspension of certain business entities, as well as the closure of large markets and large shopping centers," he said.

In addition, Baketayev noted that all of the above factors have a significant impact on the economic performance of the capital, which in turn affects the flow of tax and non-tax revenues to the local budget of the city.
