Bishkek, Dec. 14, 2021 . / Kabar / . During a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov visited Masdar City high-tech eco-city in Abu Dhabi, the press service of the Kyrgyz Cabinet reported.
The head of the Cabinet got acquainted with activities of the eco-city based on the concept of sustainable development of cities, paying special attention to projects of green economy, renewable energy, electric vehicles and development of high technology.
The Masdar City project involves the construction of a city provided with solar energy and other renewable energy sources, as well as having a sustainable energy environment with minimal carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, a system of complete recycling of waste from urban activities.
Akylbek Zhaparov stressed the importance of developing and implementing green economy initiatives and projects, taking into account the best global practices of foreign countries during his visit to the eco-city.
He said that President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has set a task to begin implementation of power generation projects, including renewable energy sources in the near future.
