Bishkek, Dec.4, 2024. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov met with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, who has arrived in Kyrgyzstan for a working visit.
The meeting was held in a narrow format within the framework of the 12th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council.
The head of the Cabinet noted that the strategic partnership between the two countries has long been based on centuries-old friendship of the Kyrgyz and Kazakh peoples, common culture, history, language, spiritual values and traditions.
“President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov attaches great importance to strengthening friendly and good neighborly relations with Kazakhstan. The official visit of our President to Kazakhstan in April this year gave a historical character and opened a new era in Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations. I am confident that the agreement signed this year on deepening and expanding allied relations will open new opportunities for further development of Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation,” he said.
In turn, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Kazakh side to further deepening and strengthening of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation, implementation of previously reached agreements.
“This year, relations between our countries have reached a qualitatively new level as a result of signing the Treaty on Deepening and Expanding Allied Relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. We highly appreciate our relations built on the basis of friendship, brotherhood and good neighborliness. The Government of Kazakhstan will make every effort to further develop Kazakh-Kyrgyz cooperation,” said Olzhas Bektenov.
In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues on priority areas of Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation.
