Cabinet Minister Zhaparov: Modern hospitals planned to be built in 20 towns of republic

Bishkek, May 13, 2022 . /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov held a meeting with Fadia Saadah, the World Bank Human Development Director for Europe and Central Asia Region.

During the meeting, main tasks of the social policy of the state were discussed, including issues of human development, possible measures and reforms needed to support the poor and vulnerable segments of the population.

Akylbek Zhaparov noted that the Kyrgyz Republic remains a country with a socially oriented market economy.

"In April of this year, the most large-scale increase in salaries of public sector employees was carried out, and social benefits were increased. The Cabinet of Ministers has ambitious plans in this direction, including the construction of hospitals meeting the highest requirements in 20 towns of the republic using budgetary funds," the head of the Cabinet said, adding that the search for international experts who are ready to provide technical assistance in the implementation of this project is currently underway.

It was also noted that work is underway to reform the education system, where special attention will be paid to vocational education.

Fadia Saadah stressed that the World Bank welcomes the initiatives of the Cabinet of Ministers on human development and expressed readiness to provide systematic assistance in implementing the plans.
