For a month there has been a clamp-down on vehicles of dark colours in Ashgabat. They are towed to car impounds and kept there until a car owner obtains a written permit from the road inspection service of the police to collect his own car provided he either immediately repaints it or refrains from its further use.
Rare white colours are towed to car impounds for violating the parking rules. Let us recall that since last year parking outside specialized car impounds has been banned in Turkmenistan.
