Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2020. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, cardiovascular diseases continue to lead in the mortality structure, the press service of the National Center of Cardiology and Therapy of the Kyrgyz Republic said Monday.
According to the E-Health Center of the republic’s Health Ministry, in 2019 (the latest available data) the leading place in the structure of mortality in the country was occupied by cardiovascular diseases, accounting for 51%.
The second place is occupied by neoplasms (12.3%), the third - by injuries and poisoning (7.5%), followed by diseases of the digestive system (6.1%) and respiratory system (5.5%).
The data clearly shows that the main causes of mortality in the republic are non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Non-communicable diseases are the main cause of disability, morbidity and premature mortality and require clear prioritization in defining the strategy and tactics of active treatment and prevention interventions.
