Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2020. /Kabar/. "It is too early to talk about repeated contamination of citizens with COVID-19," Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurbolot Usenbayev told during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
According to him, at present, COVID-19 reinfection cases need to be thoroughly examined and monitored laboratory.
"Often, even after a full recovery, the virus in the human body functions and can cause sickness again," Usenbayev said.
The Health Ministry's representative also noted that in order to determine reinfection it is necessary to perform genome decoding, which is not available in the republic.
"At present, the analyses have already been sent for decoding to Germany and Russia, and after the arrival of the results we will be able to give a concrete explanation," Usenbayev said.
According to Chief Doctor of the Center for State Sanitart and Epidemiological Surveillance (CSSES) Kuban Kundashev, two repeat cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in Bishkek.
"However, 2 officially confirmed cases were identified in the capital. As far as I know, there are up to 7 cases in total," he said.
The CSSES head added the first case - laboratory confirmed COVID-19 - was repeatedly detected in man. The second case of infection is a woman who earlier has recovered from community - acquired pneumonia with 25% of lung injury, just the other day she has admitted to hospital with 65% of injury.
