Bishkek, Dec. 16, 2019. / Kabar /. Causes of disasters in mines were discussed in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Oblast.
On Dec. 14, a meeting was held chaired by Batken Oblast Governor Akram Madumarov, with the participation of local authorities and heads of the state inspectorate for environmental and technical safety.
At the meeting, its participants discussed the causes of emergencies in mines during mining. They said that the main cause of the disasters was non-compliance by companies with safety requirements. It also became known that in connection with regulatory legal acts, verification of private enterprises by government employees is limited.
During the meeting, the governor noted the need to amend the relevant laws to increase the powers of the inspection bodies to save lives. Further, he gave a number of instructions to prevent the illegal mining of minerals, to conduct appropriate work with the population, and much more.
Recall, on Dec. 10, 2019, four miners were poisoned by carbon monoxide in the mine of Ormon CJSC. Since the beginning of 2019, 12 people have died in the mines in Batken Oblast.
