Bishkek, March 23, 2020./Kabar/.Today, March 23, 2020 a meeting of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendum (CEC) of the Kyrgyz Republic on suspension of elections of deputies to local councils of Batken, Dzhalal-Abad, Naryn, Issyk-Kul, Chui, Osh Oblasts and the city of Osh, scheduled for Apr. 12, 2020, was held, the press service of the CEC said.
Within the framework of implementation of the decree of Kyrgyz President on suspension of elections to local councils, taking into account the decision of the Security Council and order of the Kyrgyz Government, CEC members decided to suspend the preparation and conduct of elections to local councils for the duration of the emergency situation.
One-month state of emergency was declared in Kyrgyzstan on March 22.
