Bishkek, Oct. 28, 2021 / Kabar /. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has registered 330 candidates in single-mandate constituencies to date, member of the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan Uzarbek Zhylkybaev told on the air of Birinchi radio.
He said that a total of 387 applications of candidates in single-mandate constituencies in elections to the Jogorku Kenesh were submitted to the CEC.
“However, some candidates recused themselves, incorrectly opened the electoral fund or did not open it at all, and cases of submission of invalid documents were also registered,” he said.
The parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan scheduled for Nov. 28 will be held by using a mixed electoral system.
54 deputies are to be elected according to the proportional system in single electoral constituencies, while 36 deputies are to be elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.
Before the amendments, the parliament of Kyrgyzstan consisted of 120 deputies elected for a five-year term according to party lists.
