It was noted that diabetes mellitus is a complex problem of not only medical, but also social nature, relevant throughout the world. Today, more than 463 million people live with diabetes worldwide, and one in two of them is undiagnosed. The World Health Organization has declared diabetes mellitus an epidemic of the 21st century, in addition, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, people with diabetes mellitus have become one of the most vulnerable categories of patients, which requires scientists and doctors to consolidate efforts for a deeper study of diabetes, development and implementation of new technologies. its treatment and prevention.
For patients with diabetes mellitus in Central Asian countries, the most significant difficulties are problems with access to innovative therapy. In this regard, the past event became an important event in the field of health care in Central Asian countries, and its main goals are to develop a joint approach in the treatment and diagnosis of the disease that meets modern requirements, as well as exchange of experience between leading experts and specialists from different countries and the creation of a single professional the diabetic community, which will assist patients and doctors in the future to achieve treatment goals and reduce the burden and costs on the health care systems in the region, the statement says.
