Central Asian Powerlifting Championship to be held in Bishkek

Bishkek, June 16, 2021. / Kabar /. The Central Asian Powerlifting Open Championship will be held in Bishkek on June 17 - 20, the capital city’s mayor's office said.

400 athletes of all age and weight categories will take part in the competition. The sporting event is being held for the third time. The initiators are the multiple winner of the Asian and World Championships in powerlifting, President of the Powerlifting Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Dmitry Dorozhenko and the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Bishkek Mayor's Office, the report said.

The competitions are held to identify the strongest athletes in Central Asia to form a rating and determine the national teams of the city and the republic, to promote a healthy lifestyle among children and youth.

In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and to organize a safe distance, athletes will be divided into groups.

According to the results of the competition, the winners will be awarded medals, certificates and valuable prizes.
