Central Election Commission publishes 20 copies of Constitution of Kyrgyzstan in Braille

Bishkek, Jan. 15, 2019. /Kabar/. Copies of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic in Braille will be distributed by the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the use of visually impaired citizens, the press service of the institution reported.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Kyrgyz parliament, the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic transferred 2 copies of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic in Braille in Kyrgyz and Russian to the science and research center of the Kyrgyz Parliament.

During the meeting of the leadership of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic with students of the KNU named after Balasagyn, 2 copies of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic were given in Braille in two languages ​​to the University’s Scientific Library for use by citizens with vision impairment.

As part of the planned meetings of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic with young people to improve legal electoral culture, legal education of young voters, as well as voters with disabilities, copies of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic in Braille will be distributed by the CEC to the funds of universities of all regions.

The Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic in Braille was embossed on the initiative of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic with the financial support of the OSCE Program Office in Bishkek in the amount of 20 pieces (10 in Kyrgyz, 10 in Russian).

This measure is one of the initiatives of the Working Group on improving the realization of electoral rights of citizens with disabilities. As part of a broad plan of action aimed at increasing inclusiveness, other manuals and information materials on improving legal culture and literacy among people with disabilities will be published.
