Bishkek, March 18, 2021 . / Kabar / . A ceremony of the Talas Gold Processing Complex launch in Talas Oblast of Kyrgyzstan was held on Wednesday.
The event, which was held in the format of a teleconference, was attended by Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Russia Vladimir Putin, the press service of the Kyrgyz president said.

The heads of state made welcoming speeches.
President Zhaparov noted that the launch of strategically important for Kyrgyzstan project will serve as a successful example of investment cooperation between the countries.

He also paid special attention to two important points:
- the need to further strengthen the comprehensive dialogue between the enterprise and the local population;
- the need to comply with all existing environmental requirements in the development of the field.
In turn, Vladimir Putin said that the launch of Talas Gold Processing Complex is indeed an important project for Russian-Kyrgyzstani economic cooperation and, in general, for the strengthening of partner and allied relations between the two nations, expressing full agreement with Sadyr Zhaparov.

Putin noted the Russian investors intend to provide significant financial support for the social development of Talas Oblast, establishing a designated foundation, the funds of which will be spent on socially significant projects and subsidised lending to businesses, bringing considerable benefits both to Talas Oblast and the whole state, adding that the Kyrgyz budget will receive about $70 million a year.
The ceremony was also attended by President of the Russian Alliance Group Musa Bazhaev and Chairman of the board of VTB Bank Andrey Kostin.

After that, the two presidents gave a start to the launch of the gold mining plant.
Further, Sadyr Zhaparov familiarized with the activities of the gold extraction plant.

During the operation of the deposit, the planned annual payments to the budget of the country will make about KGS 4 billion.
Since the start of operations, the total number of employees involved in the project will be about 1000 people - almost all of them are citizens of Kyrgyzstan and local residents.
The capacity of the gold extraction plant is 1.3 million tons of ore per year.

The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic will have the preferential right to purchase gold bars.
Representatives of the company assured President Zhaparov of environmental friendliness of the Dzherui project, as safe technologies corresponding to international standards are used in the operation of the deposit.
