Bishkek, Dec. 25, 2020. /Kabar/. Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s State Service for Combating Economic Crimes (SSCEC, or Financial Police) Syimyk Zhapykeyev met on Friday with Head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Programme Office in the Kyrgyz Republic Andrey Seleznev.
According to the press service of the SSCEC, during the meeting the sides discussed the priority areas of mutual cooperation to increase the capacity and efficiency of the Service.
Zhapykeyev noted today the Financial Police’s priority tasks are to directly protect the economic security of the state, replenish the country's budget, protect entrepreneurship and the legitimate interests of citizens from unlawful interference and create the most favorable conditions for business and investment inflow into the country.
He emphasized that the most important thing in the fight against economic crime and corruption is political will.
In turn, Andrey Seleznev welcomed the chairman and the officers of the SSCEC, and confirmed the readiness for further fruitful cooperation with the support of the Financial Police in improving capacity in the field of financial investigations and the fight against economic crime.
