Head of Kyrgyz National Bank resigns, will represent republic at IMF

Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Tolkunbek Abdygulov has resigned.

He added that President of the country Sadyr Zhaparov offered him another position to use his experience and knowledge there.

“I wrote a resignation letter due to my transfer to another job,” Abdygulov explained.

"President Sadyr Zhaparov issued a corresponding order. I will serve as an advisor to the International Monetary Fund from Kyrgyzstan. As you know, the quota of Kyrgyzstan in the IMF was increased. It is necessary to direct all efforts to solve the issues for the good of our country,” the former head of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan added.

Tolkunbek Abdygulov, 45, headed the Kyrgyz National Bank from 2014 to August 2017 and left his post after being elected First Deputy Prime Minister.

However, in December of the same year, he returned to the position of chairman of the National Bank.
