Bishkek, Nov. 28, 2021 . / Kabar /. Chairwoman of the Central Elections Commission of Kyrgyzstan Nurzhan Shaildabekova met with representatives of Uzbekistan’s Central Election Commission, headed by Chairman Zainiddin Nizomkhojaev, the press service of the Kyrgyz CEC said Sunday.
Zainiddin Nizomkhojaev noted the polling stations they visited showed voter activity.
"Before our meeting with you, we visited the call center, where we were informed in great detail about violations, complaints, and appeals during the elections. Complaints were minor, not affecting the voting results in principle. We appreciated the work of your call center, where people with disabilities work," he said.
"The elections in Kyrgyzstan are calm and will be considered valid with any turnout. President, prime minister urged citizens to come and vote freely. There are all conditions for this.
Representatives of a number of parties and prominent politicians moderately expressed that the procedure is organized within the law. There was discontent last year, but now various forces admit that a lot of work has been done to change the situation," Shaildabekova said.
The parliamentary elections are being held in Kyrgyzstan by using a mixed electoral system. 54 deputies are to be elected according to the proportional system in single electoral constituencies, while 36 deputies are to be elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.
Earlier the parliament of Kyrgyzstan consisted of 120 deputies elected for a five-year term according to party lists.
