Chargé d'Affaires of Kyrgyzstan in China meets SCO Secretary General

Bishkek, Jan. 15, 2019. /Kabar/. Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Kyrgyzstan to China Adanov, on behalf of currently presiding Kyrgyzstan at the SCO, met with the newly appointed SCO Secretary General Norov on the occasion of his assumption of office.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that within the framework of the meeting, the Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Kyrgyzstan conveyed the SCO Secretary General a congratulatory message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Aidarbekov and wished success in the responsible post.

The sides discussed the preparation of upcoming events this year under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan in the SCO, in particular the meetings of the Council of Heads of State and the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Bishkek, as well as the final documents of the upcoming meetings. During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on issues of interaction between the SCO Secretariat and the Kyrgyz side as the presiding party to the SCO.

Vladimir Norov was appointed to the post by the decision of the Council of Heads of the SCO member states on June 10, 2018. The term of the previous Secretary General Rashid Alimov expired on December 31, 2018.
