Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2020. /Kabar/. A charity project among children “Schoolchildren and Charity" has been actively implemented in Kyrgyzstan since 2019.
According to representative of the Good Neighbors international charity organization in the Kyrgyz Republic Dastan Dzhusupbekov, the main idea of the project is to bring up in children a sense of mutual assistance, understanding and active citizenship.
"Throughout the year we work with children in different directions, but mainly we give them an understanding of the social sector, why there are people without work, without a home, why there are orphans, migration issues, what are the conditions in orphanages and nursing homes. There are also trips to the regions and social and charitable projects," he said.
Dzhusupbekov noted the project is mainly implemented in private schools, with the permission of parents and the school directorate, because in public schools the issue of fundraising is perceived slightly differently.
"All funds collected by children are sent to bank and kept until the necessary amount is collected for the project implementation. I want to note that these moneyboxes are made by the Svetlyi Put (Bright Way) orphanage," he said.
At the same time, the charity platform team is working with the business community and partners to collect donations to build a rehabilitation center for disabled children in the regions. For example, a project of the Kelechk Rehabilitation Center was implemented in Issyk-Kul Oblast, which was opened at the initiative of local residents, by the Issyk-Kul Development Fund and with support from Good Neighbors.
"At the moment we have 4 community development projects and grant projects all over the country. The collected funds are distributed for projects in 5 directions: Education, Health, Water and Sanitary, Protection of Children and Women's Rights and income-generating projects," Dastan Dzhusupbekov told.
