Checkpoint at Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border to be closed for transport passage

Bishkek, Feb.19, 2020. /Kabar/. Since Feb.20 Akzhol-Avtodorozhnyi checkpoint at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border will suspend passage of transport and cargo due to the closure of border crossing points for repairs.

Chui Oblast Main Directorate for Traffic Safety is asking drivers planning to enter Kazakhstan by vehicle to plan routes through other border crossing points at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border in advance, the pres service of the Directorate reported on Wednesday.

The following checkpoints operate at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, in particular in Chui Oblast: Ak-Tilek –Avtodorozhnyi, Ken-Bulun – Avtodorozhnyi, Tokmak – Avtodorozhnyi, Kaindy-Railway and Chaldybar – Avtodorozhnyi.

Note that, earlier the press service of the Kyrgyz State Border Service said that the passage of vehicles and cargo at the Akzhol-Avtodorozhnyi (Kyrgyzstan) - Korday-Avtodorozhny (Kazakhstan) checkpoint at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border will be suspended since 12:00 a.m. on Feb. 20.

Citizens will be able to cross the state border at this border crossing point for commercial purposes on foot without carrying oversized luggage and without voluminous hand luggage.

All passenger traffic will be directed to other checkpoints at the state border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
