Chief of General Staff of Kyrgyzstan and Indian Ambassador discuss military cooperation

Bishkek, April 5 / Kabar /. Chief of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces Major General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev met today in Bishkek with Ambassador of India to the Kyrgyz Republic Ms. L. Savitri.

During the meeting, the topical issues of military cooperation between the defense departments of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of India were discussed, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The chief of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed gratitude to the Indian side for providing all-round assistance in peacekeeping initiatives of the Kyrgyz side by establishing links with the UN Department of Peacekeeping, for the military technical assistance in the form of medical equipment and rear assets, the construction of the Kyrgyz-Indian training center, as well as personnel training.

The parties also noted the successful completion of joint exercises of the special forces "Kanjar-2017", which took place from February 20 to March 5, 2017 in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

These exercises have become one of the priority areas for practical cooperation and exchange of experience in mountain and special training between servicemen of the two states.
