Bishkek, July 7, 2022. /Kabar/. During a press conference at Kabar News Agency, child psychologist Gulmira Tyulekeyeva told about the condition of abused children.
She noted that violence in general changes a person's behavior and emotional background.
"Research and experience show that violence can cripple the entire psychological foundation on which a personality is built, and the process of rebuilding is subsequently difficult. For example, abused children or children witnessed it may have emotional and behavioral problems: depression, anxiety, fears, running away from home, unwillingness to attend school, unwillingness to study, sleep disorders and lack of appetite. In addition, adolescents and children are often prone to aggressive behavior, have an apathetic attitude toward the world around them, and may also later have difficulty building their own relationships," the psychologist said.
In conclusion, Tyulekeyeva noted that according to statistics, children with low self-esteem and insecurity are more likely to be abused.
"Based on the indicators, I want to urge everyone not to keep silent, not to hide, not to suffer and not to tolerate violence against themselves. By hiding the fact of violence, you encourage it," concluded the specialist.
