Children invited to Jogorku Kenesh to celebrate World Children's Day

Bishkek, Nov.20, 2019 /Kabar/. Parliamentary session with the participation of children and a group of MPs is taking place at the Jogorku Kenesh.

25 children from 8 to 16 years old are invited to the plenary session of the parliament. Speaker Dastanbek Dzhumabekov greeted the invited young guests, wished them success in their studies and stated that he would be glad to see them in the parliament in the future.

World Children's Day, as well as the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 25th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's accession to the treaty are celebrated today.

World Children's Day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children's Day and is celebrated Nov.20 each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.
