Bishkek, May 21, 2019. /Kabar/. China appreciates Kyrgyzstan’s positive assessment of the steps taken to deradicalization in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi said at the briefing within the framework of his official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan and XUAR closely border each other and have common security interests.
“XUAR has taken recent years positive steps to organize its work against terrorism and deradicalization, which have brought notable successes. This work allows not only to defend security in the district, but also to maintain peace in the region. It has served as a contribution to the fight against international terrorism and as a useful experience for work in deradicalization," the Chinese Foreign Minister said.
Wang Yi stressed that after Kyrgyz Foreign Minister’s visit to XUAR the Kyrgyz side made a statement fully endorsing the XUAR policy.
