Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2023. /Kabar/. The 5th World Media Summit (WMS) has started today in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province of China, with the participation of more than 450 participants from 101 countries and regions, representatives of mainstream media, think tanks, government agencies, diplomatic missions, UN agencies and international organizations. Kabar News Agency of Kyrgyzstan is also participating in the forum.
Work at the forum sites will last until December 8; in addition to Guangzhou, summit participants will also visit Kunming, where they discusses innovative approaches and strategies, shaping the future of global media trends.
The major media summit is organized by Xinhua News Agency and is held under the slogan “Boosting global confidence, promoting media development.” Participants will discuss the challenges and prospects for the development of the media space, and also work on innovative approaches and strategies for successful joint activities.
Several forums will be held within the framework of the summit, where leading experts from world news agencies express their opinions on the issue of dissemination of information in conditions of media convergence, ways to defend one’s position in the so-called post-truth era and the preservation of media values in the Internet era, visualization of digital news, a cloud platform for sharing content, using new technologies to improve user experience and many other issues.
