China is interested in organic products produced in Kyrgyzstan, and this issue was discussed between the leaders of the two countries on Thursday during the official meeting within the framework of state visit of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to the neighboring country, head of the department of the policy of strategic development, economy and finance of the President's Office Nursulu Akhmetova told reporters.
"During the meeting of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov with Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, a number of key issues of strategic direction were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the field of agriculture. China is interested in exporting environmentally friendly products, which are cultivated in the fields of Kyrgyzstan, "Akhmetova said.
She pointed out that for these purposes the Chinese President noted the importance of improving farming practices in Kyrgyzstan with the prospect of increasing volumes for exports. Such an opportunity, she said, will be a good chance for farmers and entrepreneurs of manufacturing industry to enter the Chinese market.
"Organic products have a different value - it is more highly paid. Despite the fact that the volumes produced in Kyrgyzstan are not large enough in terms of China's volumes, this line of environmental products will be very much in demand," added Akhmetova.
Earlier an agreement was signed between Kyrgyzstan and China on the provision of grant funds, the amount of which, according to preliminary estimates, is 600 million yuan. Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov said that, some of these funds will be used to build a laboratory in the north of the country to assess the quality of the goods exported to China.
