Bishkek, Feb. 8, 2019. / Kabar /. Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Xiao Qinghua commented on the strengthening of the protection of the Chinese Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic at a meeting with journalists.
Responding to a question about whether the establishment of armed guards outside of the embassy building is connected with anti-Chinese protests, he replied no.
“All embassies provide security. This is a strategic object, the most protected,” he said.
The ambassador noted that the security measures were taken after the terrorist attack in 2016.
“But today, strong guards are not associated with recent anti-Chinese protests. The embassy was always guarded,” he added.
