Bishkek, June 5, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov met with Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen.
According to the press service of the Culture Ministry, at a meeting, the sides discussed bilateral cooperation in culture and tourism.
Ambassador Du Dewen noted that during the coronavirus pandemic, the Embassy strengthened its uninterrupted work to provide humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan, which continues to be carried out amid gradual stabilization of the situation with the coronavirus in both countries.
Azamat Jamankulov expressed his gratitude for the assistance, provided to Kyrgyzstan in the fight against coronavirus infection, and in particular thanked the Chinese Embassy headed by Ambassador Du Dewen for the assistance in holding such international events as the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the World Epics Festival.
The culture minister stressed the completion of the five-year programme of cooperation in the field of culture, noting the high dynamics of bilateral contacts and holding events from 2015 to 2020.
At the same time, he proposed to work out the issue of concluding a new programme of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China on culture for the next five years.
Ambassador Du Dewen noted the Chinese Embassy will continue its active cooperation and will work with its Chinese colleagues on issues of interest to the Ministry as much as possible, despite the situation with the virus, which has had a significant impact on the economies of both countries and the world as a whole.
In the line of tourism, the minister voiced proposals on the possibilities of organizing tourist groups in Kyrgyzstan.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to work actively to implement existing and reached agreements as the pandemic wanes.
