Bishkek, Apr. 8, 2020 / Kabar /. A handover ceremony of the humanitarian aid from the government of the People's Republic of China to combat coronavirus infection was held at the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan.
The event was attended by Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Ismailova, Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Sabirzhan Abdikarimov, Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Du Dewen, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported.
Du Dewen noted that it was a great honor for her to hand over the humanitarian aid from the Government of China.
“In the fight against coronovirus infection, two fraternal peoples offer each other a helping hand. This is a clear manifestation of the high level of comprehensive Kyrgyz-Chinese strategic relations,” said Du Dewen.
Ismailova expressed gratitude on behalf of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Government of the People's Republic of China for the provided support.
“Personal protective equipment will enable healthcare workers to quickly and safely respond to all challenges and counteract the spread of coronavirus. Personal protective equipment will be sent to medical facilities and checkpoints at the border,” she said.
The vice PMr noted that today the world is facing an outbreak of a new coronavirus infection, the number of infected in the republic has reached 270 people, 4 of whom have died.
“Given the situation, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic takes all possible measures to prevent the further spread of coronavirus in the country. As you know, from March 25, 2020, in some cities and regions of the country, a state of emergency was introduced. Thus, restrictive measures were introduced for citizens of the country, while it must be understood that these measures are forced, aimed solely to prevent the rapid spread of the virus and preserve the health of citizens. We should clearly be aware that today no one in the world is safe from this disease. Everyone should realize that his health is in his hands,” said Aida Ismailova.
In this regard, she called on the citizens of the country to strictly follow the recommendations of specialists of the World Health Organization.
The humanitarian aid provided by the Chinese side includes: PCR diagnostic reagents and personal protective equipment (disposable coveralls, thermometers, medical glasses, gloves and shoe covers) for medical workers totaling 640,000 Chinese yuan, which is approximately 7 million 690 thousand Kyrgyz soms .
Earlier, 21 thousand units of rapid tests were transferred to Kyrgyzstan.
