Bishkek, Apr.2, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry hosted the ceremony of handing over a humanitarian cargo from the Government of China in the form of 21 thousand SARS CoV-2 Antibody test reagents to combat COVID-19, the ministry’s press service said on Thursday.
The event was held with the participation of Health Minister Sabirjan Abdikarimov, Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen and Director of the second political department of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry Tolondu Makeyev.
These tests will make it possible to determine the presence of coronavirus within 20 minutes and localize the virus spread in the republic.
Rapid tests have shown positive experience in diagnostics of novel coronavirus in China, South Korea and other countries.
"We express our gratitude to the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan for supporting the Kyrgyz-Chinese relations, comprehensive strategic partnership and friendly feeling of the Chinese people to the people of Kyrgyzstan," Minister Abdikarimov noted.
As of Apr.2, 116 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Kyrgyzstan.
54 cases were revealed in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, 30 in Osh Oblast, Chui Oblast reported about 5 cases, Batken Oblast -3, Naryn Oblast-4, Issyk-Kul Oblast 2, and the cities of Bishkek and Osh confirmed 8 and 10 novel coronavirus cases, respectively.
