Bishkek, June 11, 2024. /Kabar/. The VI international forum “Public procurement - a tool for economic development and expansion of international cooperation” is taking place in Cholpon-Ata town of Kyrgyzstan.
The event brought together experts, representatives of government and international organizations, as well as delegates from various countries to discuss key areas and challenges in the field of public procurement.
This year the forum paid special attention to the integration of green economy principles into public procurement. Participants discussed ways to improve sustainability and environmental responsibility through modernizing procurement procedures. Priority topics also included innovations in the electronic procurement system, helping to simplify and increase transparency of processes, and global challenges facing public procurement systems in modern conditions.
At the opening of the event, head of the Issyk-Kul district state administration, Zhaparbek Ormonov in his welcoming speech emphasized the importance of the forum as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, which contributes to strengthening international cooperation and economic development of the region.
“Today we see public procurement becoming a powerful tool not only for economic growth, but also for promoting sustainable practices. I am confident that the results of our forum will serve as an incentive for further innovation and improvement of public procurement systems,” he said.
The forum will last for two days, including plenary sessions, working groups and panel discussions. Participants will discuss best practices and outline strategies for further development of public procurement in the face of global changes.
