Bishkek, Feb.11, 2020. /Kabar/. "Chui Oblast should implement major investment, tourism and social and economic projects,” Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev said during the Board of the Chui Oblast state administration on summarizing the results for 2019 and plans for 2020.

The prime minister noted the indicators of social and economic development of the oblast are average, there are both good achievements and shortcomings, the press service of the Government reported on Monday.

"Chui Oblast has every opportunity to implement projects in the social and economic sphere, culture and tourism. For this purpose there are necessary climatic conditions, developed infrastructure and favorable geographical location.

I consider agriculture, development of the processing industry and tourism to be priority areas for Chui Oblast. There are plans to open a credit line to support tourism activities. In addition, it is important to pay attention to the development and support of breeding farms. Chui Oblast could become a leader in almost all areas, but unfortunately not enough efforts are being made to develop the region's potential," the prime minister said.

According to Abylgaziev, despite the existing potential, only 5% of tourists rest in Chui Oblast.

"Local authorities need to intensify efforts to attract investment in tourism and other activities. Note that the main flow of internal migrants lives in Chui Oblast. This year has been declared Year of Support for Children also. Therefore it is important to solve all issues on documentation and identification of children in need of state social assistance. There is also need to pay attention to reducing maternal and infant mortality," he said.

During the Board, the head of the Government spoke about the policy of regional development in the country, fiscal and customs procedures, reform of the public procurement system, optimization of state spending, support to the social sector.

He stressed the importance of activating local authorities in terms of assisting entrepreneurs in the preparation and implementation of investment projects to be financed by state financial institutions.
