CIS chiefs of staff discuss modern approaches to countering drones

Bishkek, April 5, 2024 / Kabar/. A regular meeting of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the CIS member states was held in Moscow on April 4, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The event was attended by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Mukambetov.

Before the meeting, the chiefs of staff laid flowers and wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall.

During the meeting, participants discussed modern approaches to countering drones and the experience of mine clearance during a special military operation. Particular attention is paid to the prospects for improving the joint air defense system.

Issues of combat training and field training of troops, military-professional training of military personnel of friendly armies were also discussed. In addition, the Committee supported the introduction of experience in conducting combat operations in modern conditions into the practice of troop training.

The joint scientific work “Commonwealth of Independent States: Military Cooperation and Security in the 21st Century”, prepared by a team of authors representing the military academies of the Commonwealth states and the secretariat of the Council of Defense Ministers, was reviewed in the format of a live discussion.
