Bishkek, July 23, 2020. /Kabar/. The Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent State (IPA CIS) observers will monitor parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan.
"The Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent State received a letter from the Jogorku Kenesh inviting international observers from the IPA CIS to participate in monitoring the preparation and conduct of elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the VII convocation," the press service of the IPA CIS said Thursday.
In the near future the composition of the monitoring group will be determined among the representatives of the parliaments – IPA CIS members, the IPA CIS Secretariat staff and experts who will take part in monitoring of the elections.
Parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan will be held on Oct. 4, 2020. A total of 44 political parties have notified the CEC of their intention to participate in it.
Campaigning will begin on Sept. 4 and end on Oct. 2.
Kyrgyzstan’s CEC added 42 foreign polling stations for Kyrgyz citizens abroad have been approved so far.
