Ashgabat, Oct. 11, 2019. / Kabar /. A meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has begun in Ashgabat with the participation of President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov greeted all the leaders of the CIS countries.
The meeting in a narrow format has started.
It should be noted that the head of Kyrgyzstan arrived in the capital of Turkmenistan today.
After the meeting in a narrow format, the meeting in an expanded format will begin.
The CIS Executive Committee previously reported that the draft agenda for the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS included a question on a program of cooperation between the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the fight against terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism for 2020-2022.
Following the meeting, a number of documents are expected to be signed.
In the framework of his visit to Ashgabat, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with head of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Jeenbekov also met with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.
