Community-acquired pneumonia is manifestation of COVID-19: Kyrgyz Health Ministry’s order

Bishkek, July 16, 2020. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan approved the third version of the National Clinical Guidelines for COVID-19, which was developed by a working group of experts.

As Deputy Prime Minister Aida Ismailova said during a briefing, the guidelines consists of an algorithm for managing patients with COVID-19 and its complications, including community - acquired pneumonia, for inpatient and outpatient care.

"For a unified approach to the treatment of coronavirus infection, the Ministry of Health issued an order, according to which community-acquired pneumonia refers to the code U07.2. Thus, its statistical cases are considered a manifestation of COVID-19," the deputy prime minister aaded.

According to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD10), adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO), class 07 is applied in emergencies and COVID-19 is assigned to code U07.1, which is confirmed by laboratory, and Y07.2, which is confirmed non-laboratory but manifests clinically.
