Bishkek, March 31, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyz migrants in Russia and businessmen want to buy the Russian-made Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine for Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz Minister of Health and Social Development Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev said on the air of the Birinchi Radio.
According to Beishenaliyev, he had twice met with Russian health minister on the issue of vaccines, as well as readiness to provide 500,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine to Kyrgyzstan was expressed during Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov’s meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
"Now many countries have learned about the effectiveness of Sputnik V and have started to order it. We are standing in line. We will receive vaccines at the end of April, in May or June,” the minister said.
Besides, Alymkadyr Beishenaliyev noted Kyrgyz migrants and businessmen contacted him and expressed readiness to buy the Sputnik V vaccine for Kyrgyzstan.
"Prime minister gave permission. We are going to purchase the Russian vaccine money at their funds,” he added.
In Kyrgyzstan, vaccination against COVID-19 coronavirus infection has started on March 29.
Citizens are offered to get vaccine with Chinese vaccine Sinopharm, which was received on March 19 as a humanitarian assistance.
More than 12 million people have been vaccinated with this vaccine in 65 countries, such as China, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bahrain, etc.
