Tashkent, Dec. 14, 2018. /Kabar/. A conference devoted to the 90th anniversary of writer, state and public figure Chyngyz Aitmatov was held at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulug'bek on Thursday.
Rector of the NUU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Avazzhan Madrakhimov told that the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov turned into the spiritual value of readers all over the world. The noble qualities glorified in the writer's works praise man and all of humanity. The ideas of his publicistic, critical articles, novels and short stories call for preservation of peace on earth, love and care for each other, respect for their native land.
“The unique talent of the artist, his work on the word, deep and meaningful texts, the philosophy of the works will always be seen as a school of mastery. The writer was knowledgeable and deeply felt the history and culture of our people, its rich spiritual heritage,” he noted.
The work that made the name of the writer known at the international level, was the story "Jamilya". Over the course of two years, it was translated into almost 30 languages.
The conference continued its work in five sessions. There were heard reports on foreign languages, topical issues of Uzbek philology, masterpieces of world and Uzbek literature, in the context of the works of Aitmatov.
The event was attended by the staff of the Kyrgyz Embassy in the Republic of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Republican Kyrgyz Cultural Center of Uzbekistan.
