Conflict on border with Tajikistan kills 36 Kyrgyzstanis: latest data

Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2022 . / Kabar / . As of 10:00 a.m., the bodies of 12 more Kyrgyzstanis had been admitted to health care organizations in Batken Oblast, the Ministry of Health of the republic said Sunday.

A total of 36 people died as a result of the armed conflict in Batken.

The number of injured makes 129, of whom 7 are sent for outpatient treatment.

On Sept. 14, Tajikistan showed armed aggression by attacking Kyrgyz border outposts and villages. On Sept. 16, the Tajik side, violating all previously reached agreements, again attacked border and civilian facilities along the entire perimeter of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border in the Batken region.

Tajikistan used heavy armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and aircraft in an attempt to seize the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.

An emergency regime has been introduced in Batken Oblast.
