Bishkek, March 23, 2023. / Kabar /. The construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is an important strategic project within the framework of the joint construction of the One Belt One Road initiative, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen said today at a briefing in Bishkek.
She said that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project is a century-old, grandiose project, and when such large-scale projects, all issues should be carefully studied.
“The first step is the development of a feasibility study. Last year, the relevant departments of China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed a document on the development of a feasibility study for the railway, and we hope that the development will be completed on time, in June,” Du Dewen noted.
The ambassador stressed that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is an important strategic project within the framework of the joint construction of the One Belt One Road initiative.
“This road will undoubtedly become an important part of the new Asia-Europe transcontinental bridge. Through China, Kyrgyzstan can have access to the sea. The road will help increase the transit advantage of Kyrgyzstan and stimulate the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan, as well as strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the relevant countries,” the ambassador said.
