Bishkek, Jan. 14, 2025. / Kabar /. Construction work is actively underway at the Karakul hydro power station, the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan said.
The hydro power station is located on the Kara-Suu River, near the city of Karakul. The planned capacity of the station will be 18 MW.
An investment agreement for the construction of a small hydro power station was signed between Karakulskaya HPP OJSC and Zhagalmay LLC on June 16, 2023.
A crushing and sorting facility with a capacity of 400 tons per hour has been organized to provide the construction with inert materials (crushed stone and sand). In addition, a concrete plant with a capacity of 90 m³/hour has been built.
All construction and installation work is being carried out in accordance with the schedule of the investment agreement. Completion of construction is planned for the first half of 2026, the report said.
