Bishkek, Aug.20, 2019. /Kabar/. The construction of North-South alternative road in Kyrgyzstan will be completed in 3 years in 2022, Engineer for the road construction project Zamir Iskakov told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He said the North-South Alternative Highway project is divided into three phases. The first phase, of which 150.9 km in total, is the Kazarman-Jalal-Abad section (291-433 km), and the construction of the Kok-Art Tunnel (3.8 km) is also planned. Construction works have been completed for USD 287.6 million (71.9%).
The length of the second phase of the project is 99 km (195-291 km) and the construction of two trestle bridges with a total length of 1 thousand 472 meters. Construction works were completed for the amount of USD 230.8 million (77.3%). The ministry noted that since the beginning of the construction season, asphalt pavement has been laid for 12.5 km.
The third phase of the project is 69.7 km (89 - 159 km) long. It is planned to be completed in 2022. The contractors have now started to develop the quarries.
