Bishkek, Dec.18, 2019. /Kabar/. The Bishkek-Kara-Balta road was scheduled to be completed in May 2020, but was behind schedule, Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Berdaliyev told reporters.

According to the deputy minister, the slippage occurred due to a number of factors.

"There have been delays in resolving quarries, in carrying road communications, also because of the houses close to the road. We plan to complete the construction next autumn. At present asphalt-concrete covering is laid on 35 kilometers of the road. Construction is finished by 50-60%,” Berdaliyev added.

The project is financed by the Asian Development Bank and the contractor is a Chinese company.
