Construction work on CASA-1000 project continues in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Aug. 1, 2023. /Kabar/. National Electric network of Kyrgyzstan JSC told about the progress of construction of CASA-1000 in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the information, within the framework of the CASA-1000 project in Kyrgyzstan, construction work continues on a 500 kV power transmission line and a 500 kV cell at the Datka substation.

It is noted that at the moment, work has been completed on laying access roads to the supports (100%), digging pits (100%) and pouring concrete foundations (100%) of all 1243 supports. Work is underway on the installation of poles, where 1236 poles (99%) have already been installed and wires have been suspended at 265.78 km (58%).

Major construction and installation works have been successfully completed at the Datka substation. In particular, a 500 kV shunt reactor with accessories, a neutral, an oil pit and fire barriers, 3 sets of 500 kV automatic switches, 3 sets of 500 kV current transformers, 6 500 kV lightning rods and other equipment were installed, as well as power and control cables with a total length over 475 meters.

CASA-1000 is designed to connect the energy systems of Central Asia with South Asia - Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan with Afghanistan and Pakistan. This will enable the development of electricity trading mechanisms in accordance with international standards.
