Consultations being held with leaders of parliamentary factions on extraordinary meeting

Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Consultations are being held with leaders of the Jogorku Kenesh factions regarding an extraordinary meeting, Head of the Kyrgyz Parliament’s press service Ibrahim Nurakun uulu said.

He noted that newly appointed Parliament Speaker Myktybek Abdyldayev got acquainted with the condition of the Jogorku Kenesh building.

"At the moment, the Parliament halls are not ready to hold the meeting. The staff of the Parliament’s Office are trying to restore it," he added.

At yesterday’s extraordinary meeting of the Kyrgyz Parliament held Tuesday at Dostuk hotel, 67 MPs have elected Sadyr Zhaparov as new Acting Prime Minister.

According to Ibrahim Nurakun uulu, the Parliament Building became unsuitable for the meeting after being seized by the protesters.
