Those who had contact with COVID-19 infected Kazakhstani being tracked: Health Ministry

Bishkek, March 23, 2020./Kabar/.Those who had contact with coronavirus infected Almaty (Kazakhstan) resident, arrived in Bishkek from Istanbul are being tracked, Head of the Public Health Department of Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Health Ainura Akmatova said during a briefing at the Government House.

She added Kazakhstani has arrived from Umrah in Saudi Arabia and returned to Kazakhstan.

"He was found in Almaty when all the pilgrims were checked. We contacted Kazakhstan's chief medical officer. We constantly exchange information with the CIS countries. There is now an epidemic investigation. Contact persons are being tracked," Akmatova said.

Today, there are 14 coronavirus patients in total in Kyrgyzstan, including six men and eight women.

"Among them, two patients in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast are estimated to be of average severity. The condition of the others is relatively satisfactory. Everyone is receiving appropriate treatment," she said.

Akmatova stressed 2 thousand 628 people have been identified as having had contact with those infected. All of them have been placed on house quarantine.
