Tashkent, Feb. 13, 2019. /Kabar/. The current state and prospects for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the enterprises of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the textile, sewing and knitwear industry were discussed at a meeting at the Uztextilprom Association with the Kyrgyz delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic Jyrgalbek Sagynbayev on Monday, the press service of the Uztekstilprom Association reported.
The focus was on such issues as promotion and trade of textile products, implementation of joint production of finished products and their subsequent export to the markets of third countries.
The Uzbek side organized a presentation of the production and export potential of the domestic textile industry, favorable investment climate, developed scientific and educational base for training and advanced training of personnel.
In particular, there was a growth in the volume and diversification of the range of mutual trade. So, by the end of 2018, textile exports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $ 70 million.
As part of the visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the delegation of business circles of the Kyrgyz Republic paid study visits to the Uzbek textile enterprises Bakan Tex and Uztex Group for targeted development of bilateral cooperation.
For the period from January to October 2018, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reached $ 325 million, a 50% increase over the same period last year.
