Cooperation issues discussed between Kyrgyzstan, Green Climate Fund

Bishkek, July 13, 2022. /Kabar/. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan, led by Head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration Almaz Isanov held a meeting with representatives of the Green Climate Fund during a working visit to the Republic of Korea.

The sides discussed in detail the process of accreditation of the Agency for Community Development and Investment of Kyrgyzstan (ARIS) in the Green Climate Fund and the implementation of projects under the fund, the press service of the Presidential Administration reported.

In particular, the Kyrgyz side emphasized such priority areas as attracting investment to achieve the goals of sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan, overcoming poverty, development and support of private entrepreneurship, increasing employment and income levels of the rural population, improving rural infrastructure, implementation of projects on renewable energy, training in decision-making skills of local communities in the field of adaptation to climate change.

The Kyrgyz side expressed the hope that the Green Climate Fund will support national and regional climate projects in Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, representatives of the Green Climate Fund expressed readiness to further expand cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and invited to take part in the global conference to be held in September this year in Seoul.
